Superman Forever Radio 33- LIVE!

It’s the first episode of Superman Forever Radio recorded while streaming live.

While there are technical issues at the beginning, there are some great moments as Neil Cole of the Supermansupersite.com and Isaac Daniel Frisbie of The World’s Best Podcast drop in to talk the Superman Celebration, and the Superman movie franchise.

It was a learning experience, but a heck of a lot of fun.

Next Sunday- back to normal as we look at the Superman comics on stands for October, 2007 as well as Bizarro and Lobo.

Superman Forever Radio 31- The Secret Origin of a Superman Fan

This week takes a different turn.

I was feeling a little sentimental after finding an old Superman book from my youth, and felt compelled to scrap the episode I had planned, in favor of a more personal look back at my own foundations of fandom.

It’s a little bit different from what I normally do, but I think it was something I needed to do.

I do take a moment to add in some news from the week, and talk a little bit about Metropolis, Illinois.

This episode explores the man of steel via the 31st century past, present, and future by way of a flashback device in Action Comics #850, an emotional story about Superman‘s loneliness.

Then it’s on to Superman #663, which features the young gods, Lightray, and finally something relevant to Camelot Falls, the semi-ongoing storyline.

Finally, it’s artificial life vs biological life, by way of BRAINIAC in Superman/Batman #35.

Superman Forever Radio 19- Kryptonite Central

This week begins the new twice weekly format.

We talk extensively about Kryptonite– it’s origins, the many varieties, and a scientific explanation of why it effects the Man of Steel. Did you know that Jerry Siegel originally wanted Kryptonite to appear years earlier? You can read much of that original story at k-metal.nu.

Also, Amy Adams as Lois Lane; why she makes an excellent choice and what former Lois Lanes have spoken their approval. A Justice League movie for 2013? And an update on the other Superman movie– Superman Requiem.

Then, the Kryptonite theme continues as the animated Superman first encounters his weakness in the fifth episode of Superman:The Animated Series. See the Man of Steel battle a giant T-rex, and pollute the harbor with aircraft and lead poisoning. Also- why you don’t want to be in the Metropolis Treasury building when a fire breaks out.
